This is a reproduction of A.F.W. 3078, a 1915 green "On Active Service" envelope, which were generally sparsely issued and fiercely prized. They allowed soldiers to send messages home with a greater degree of detail and privacy in particular (as they were most likely only to be examined at the Base, instead of Regimentally as was normally the case). The writer was required to certify on his honour that the contents related only to private and family matters, and it was not unheard of for breaches of this to lead to further issues of such envelopes to other members of the same unit being temporarily suspended as a punishment. Also now includes a copy of A.F.W. 3312, the Base Censor's label used to reseal the envelope after it had been opened for examination. These are printed on gummed paper, so fully functional like the originals.
Each 1915 green "On Active Service" envelope and label costs £1.00, plus postage and packaging. One single envelope and label is included free with every 1906 or 1915 AB64.
